Our players did an amazing job fundraising at Tesco Prestwich and earned more than £1,000 for the club.
Kids from Cheetahs, Diamonds, Emeralds, Hurricanes, Lions and Phoenix came together and collected cash, handed out flyers for online donations and got people involved in colouring competitions and quizzes, while explaining how the club helps our community.
Tesco’s community fund presented us with a cheque as the chosen organisation to benefit from a recent book donation scheme and nearly £700 was collected in cash and online donations during the day.
It was a fantastic effort, led wholly by the players themselves, who showed great organisational and communication skills, and were an absolute credit to the club with their exemplary behaviour. They took huge pride in talking about their teams and the public loved the interaction and got really involved.
We are currently going through the entries to the competitions and the winners will be notified in due course. Prizes include footballs and a new Prestwich Marauders football kit.
