Goals came from Erin (3), Eva (3) and Frankie, in what coach Mark described as arguably the standout performance of the season so far.
Mark, with typical pre-match positivity, said: "Craig and myself both had a bit of a bad feeling before kick off...
"But it didn’t take long for our nerves to be settled with Eva winning the ball on the halfway line and pretty much beating every player on the opposition team to score a stunning solo goal.
"She repeated the feat not long afterwards. We then switched formation and positions a couple of times during the match and each girl adapted seamlessly to the barrage of tweaks and gave us some food for thought for future matches.
"Defensively we were superb again and our third clean sheet out of four matches. This really gave us the confidence to take risks and play with freedom higher up the pitch.
"Elsa, Lexi Jeanette, Mia and Frankie were majestic at the back and limited Howfen to scraps, and keeper Darci took her game to the next level with some excellent distribution and decision making.
"The comfort at the back allowed Frankie a trip back to centre-mid where she didn’t disappoint and she walked away with a goal after twinkle toes Mia got the chance to show some wing wizardry.
"The constant running and aggression on the flanks shown by Layla and Violette had me breathless and gives so much to the team. Essi really looked like she was having fun in the deep lying midfield role and looked so comfortable on the ball.
"Lone striker Erin, who runs tirelessly for the team, got no rewards in the first half but kept plugging away and walked away with her second, second half hat trick in three games. However, she had to share the match ball with Eva who also netted a third.
"The great start continues and the girls are looking confident and starting to believe they can do something special this season. I think the result will have the rest of the division paying attention."
Mark's player of the game was Erin, Craig's was Essi and parents voted for Eva.
Jaguars under-10s boys enjoyed an excellent performance against Oldham.
Coach Tim said: "The boys played some great football and workedwell as a team. Goals from Flynn and Riley in the first half saw the team go into the break happy. Flynn bagged his second soon after.
"When Oldham came more into the game, the Jaguars clicked into gear with Riley and Oscar combining well twice, both hitting the back of the net, before Ned then volleyed home.
"We're really pleased for the boys and proud of the way they played their football, working as a team and communicating well. New boys Casper and Adam are performing really well, and Sandro continues to be an excellent presence in goal. James wasn't on the scoresheet but played really well as always. Player of the match went to Gabriel, whose calmness and bravery in defence always provides an excellent foundation for the team."
Our Cheetahs under-13s girls enjoyed a 3-0 win over Cheetham Hill JFC Girls Blue.
There was solid defensive set up and some excellent movement off the ball. Goals came from Aoife, Violette and an absolute gem from Pantea in the first half. This gave Cheetahs a lead to defend and then they put in a comprehensive team performance to keep it that way for the remainder of the game, which frustrated the opposition.
Player of the game, for her performance at the back, was Pearl.
