Jaguars under-10s boys got off to a flyer in the cup against Uppermill - thanks, in part, to a hat-trick from player of the game Flynn.

Coach Tim said: "The boys pressed and passed with focus right from the start. Flynn's hat-trick and a goal from James put the team in control. Gabriel has been excellent since joining last year and scored his first goal for the club, and Riley capped a fine display with a great finish to make it 6-1. The result was never in doubt really thanks to the boys' work rate and concentration."

Our Phantoms under-16s boys were also on winning form as they beat Cheetham Hill Whites 5-1 away.

Coach Marc said: "It was another fine win and a great game to watch. Despite Cheetham scoring first and putting us on the back foot, we soon found our way and started playing better football and holding onto the ball longer.

"Alex scored to make it 1-1 at half time and in the second period we bossed the game. Cheetham didn’t really threaten us in front of goal and the lads took advantage through Elliot bagging the next one.

"From then on the game got easier for the boys and the goals kept coming. Elliot scored his second with a header from a corner, then Noah and Alex finished them off towards the end.

"Some great football, some great finishes and some great assists too from Finn McLoughlin. Thanks again to Reece covering the nets - he did a sound job. Player of the game  was split between Eliot and Finn Mc, as they both made a difference and worked hard for the team."

Panthers after their weekend game against Tika Taka

After their game being called off last week due to the storm, our Panthers under-10s boys were raring to go against Tika Taka.

Coach Ste said: "From kick-off the Panthers chased every ball down, fought really hard to win back possession in their half and created chances straight away.

"We soon got our reward when James’ determination saw him hold off two defenders then set up Ethan to tap home. James then turned from provider to goal scorer after Enzo’s skill on the right found James in the middle.

"Panthers didn’t let Tika Taka have a minute and Hudson won the ball back within 30 seconds of their kick-off and then passed to Freddie just inside their half, and he hit a shot that beat everyone into the bottom right corner.

"Ollie was dancing round players on the left and Jay was up and down winning it all over. With 10 left in the first half Panthers had a free kick midway inside their half. Rocco whipped in a fantastic cross to the back post, finding Ethan who volleyed it home.

"With three subs it gave us a chance to change players around in the second half, and with such a dominant first half the Panthers naturally stepped off the gas and just enjoyed playing.

"William played in defence, midfield and then nearly scored when he went up front, while James made chances down the left every time he had the ball. Hudson, Ollie and Enzo were dribbling past players at every chance. David, in goal, was a spectator for much of the game due to the outfield dominance.

"Tika Taka began countering more, but Rocco was equal to everything showing his strength and winning the ball back effortlessly. There was a real captain's performance by Ethan, who got our player of the game award for a Haaland-like performance."

Diamonds under-12s girls continued there scorching start to the season with a 7-1 win over Wigan Athletic.

Coach Mark said: "The Diamonds juggernaut trucked on in a friendly against old foes Wigan, despite conceding a goal within three minutes.

"Wigan are a team we’ve had some great tussles with over the years. They are a good team - strong, aggressive, well-drilled and have made the jump to the North West Girls Super League this season, but we absolutely dominated and left them in a state of shock.

"Defensive solidity at the back again allowed us to attack at will. Elsa, Frankie, Essi, Jeanette and Mia refused to buckle and keeper Darci’s decision making was on point again.

"The aggression and will to win the ball in our own defensive third was personified with our fifth goal. Jeanette, being attacked down the flank, took the winger into the corner, then took the ball off her toe, turned, played to Layla down the flank who put the ball across for Erin to make no mistake and fire home.

"The wingers Violette, Layla and Mia, as always, ran themselves into the ground for us and all deserved a goal. Forwards Erin and Maria both scored a brace and were always looking to bring others into play when that was the best option.

"Midfielders Essi and Eva, ably assisted by Maria, controlled the centre of the park and won the midfield battle. It was an absolute joy to be on the sideline to see the girls deliver such an impressive team performance

"In my opinion it was our best performance of the season and arguably ever - the way we dominated an opponent of that calibre, by attacking at pace, passing the ball about lovely and scoring good goals.

"Every girl had a legitimate shout for player of the game and in hindsight I should’ve done a team award. But parents' player of the game was Frankie, who was an absolute rock at the back. She maybe small in stature but is a massive presence at the back and fearless.

"Craig's players of the game were Maria and Layla, who were both superb all day. Maria was like a bull, with strength and aggression. She got two goals but really played with her head up and brought others into play. Layla was an absolute livewire who worked the flank both ways and whose performance deserved a goal as a cherry on top.

"My player of the game, for only the second time in history, my very own daughter Eva. She scored a hat-trick from midfield for a successive game, and gave a midfield masterclass with one of the goals being another showreel special."

Our Raptors under-13s had impressive 4-0 win over Radcliffe Juniors Cyclones.

Coach Paul said: "The lads put in a dominant display, netting twice in each half with Tommy getting both first half goals and Max and Bobby adding the second half goals. An excellent defending display earned Thomas S the player of the match award."

Phoenix under-11s girls had a tough encounter against Tika Taka Toones, but manager Brendan was full of praise for the hard-working defenders.

He said: "Training during the week had worked on defending and increasing the girls physicality. The girls took to their task fabulously against a technically strong and physical team.

"The defending in the first half was dogged, determined and relentless across the whole team. Bodies were put on the line to make last ditch tackles and blocked shots. Credit to the defensive unit of Mia, Brooke, Annabel and Grace.

"They were ably supported by our midfielders who tracked runners and supported the defenders by working back and putting in their own tough tackles. Noe, Lola, Iris, April and Blake all worked their socks off.

"That defensive solidity paid dividends when a long goal kick by Isabella turned into a through ball for the strong and pacey Adalind to break free and score with a fine finish.

"The second half was tough. Phoenix continued to defend with determination but ultimately the relentless pressure told. The coaches were however extremely proud of the efforts made by the girls. The first half was by far the best defensive display the girls have put in this season.

"Player of the game was Isabella, who made numerous superb saves and got that brilliant assist for our goal."
