Our Titans under-15s boys picked up their first win of the season on Saturday, with a 3-1 victory against Radcliffe Devils.
Coach Nathan said: "We are really glad to get our first three points thanks to goals from Jack, Leo and Max. Olly was man of the match with a great performance. Roll on next Saturday as we have another tough game ahead of us."
Vikings under-11s boys battled hard in their game against Bury, with Seb scoring two and getting the man of the match award. Coach Tom said: "We started very strong and were in control most of the first half. We had Bury pinned back for the last 10 minutes."
Hurricanes under-eights girls had a round robin mini-tournament with Boothstown Bees' A and B teams. Coach Justin said: "They were both close games that ebbed and flowed - we are definitely improving week by week, and some of the football we played was the best we have seen yet.
"Our first goal in the second game was as a result of a delightful series of one-twos from Marnie and Violet. Siana was again brilliant in net, and made a series of spectacular saves that drew plaudits from the opposition coaches.

"Betsy not only defended diligently but also exhibited some excellent passing that showed off her technical abilities too. Marnie scored a brilliant hattrick in the first game, played some lovely football and epitomised everything that was good about us
"Violet scored twice in the second game, was unlucky not to score more and carried the attack to the opposition at every opportunity. Lyla never stopped running, was involved in several of our goals, and never gave the opposition an inch.
"Matilda carried the fight to Boothstown in both games, running with the ball and starting many of our attacks. Alma put in a combative defensive display including an innovative marking technique, and also made some great passes."
"Rene gets better with game, getting stuck in and helping us move the ball forward with her excellent passing. Olivia made some good interceptions and showed off her trademark technical ability in midfield and attack.
"Back to the league next week - and our first ever home game, weather permitting, fingers crossed..."
Diamonds under-11s girls had a straight forward day against Aspull.
Tornados under-eights boys had the wind in their sails, with a gusty performance. Player of the match Mateo, Charlie, Evan and Jacob got on the scoresheet. Coach Stu said: "It was a far more positive display all round. The whole team put a shift in - both in attack and defence.
"There was some brilliant communication between players and this was pointed out by several parents as well. Bouncing back from a disappointing previous result was key and we accomplished that."
Phoenix girls under-10s played out a tight game against Ordsall Juniors Bees. The hardworking Summer and Iris impressing as they got the goals for Marauders. Mia was player of the game. Coach Aidan said: "Mia showed unbelievable energy and together with Orlaith and Iris, they never stopped running.
"Anabell communicated well, while defensive partner Grace brought the ball out and got her head up to pass. Noe made a lot of clever runs and Lois nearly scored with a brilliantly-struck late free-kick that rattled the bar.
"Isabella made some top saves as always and came off her line well and at the other end Aoife constantly put the opponents under pressure and was unlucky with a late pile driver that brought a great save from their keeper."
