Goals were scored by Jenson (two), Rocco (two), Aidan and Eoin, with the whole team sharing the player of the match award.
Coach Tom said: "What a game we witnessed. We took over - creating chances and playing some brilliant football. The chances kept coming and the boys stepped up a gear in the second half, fighting for each other and, picking passes and shooting at the right times.
"We couldn't have asked anymore from them and I am absolutely buzzing with how the game went."
Diamonds girls under-11s enjoyed another glittering performance against Astley Bridge. Coach Mark said: "We are scoring for fun and not conceding. We gave a few of the girls runouts in different positions and still managed to play some exceptional football."
Phantoms under-15s boys earned a much-need win, beating Littleborough Stripes 4-3. Coach Marc said: "It was a scrappy game that went down to the wire and we scored with seconds to spare."
Phoenix girls under-10s had a bad day at the office in their game at Bridge JFC. Top scorer Summer bagging for the blues. Coach Tony said: "We continue to work on clearing the ball and tackling, but the girls had their own inquest at half-time showing great maturity with ideas on how to improve. They played a lot better in the second half, battling away until the end." Aoife was player of the game for her performance as stand-in goalkeeper, which included an outstanding David De Gea foot-save.
Devils boys under-11s had a cracking game against Shawside. Reggie (two), Aiden and Luca scoring the goals. Coach Andy said: "We could have had six or seven, but their goalkeeper put in a very good performance. There was some solid defending from the back four and a top corner freekick from Reggie. Thanks to Mika for standing in as goalkeeper - he had a great performance."
Hurricanes under-eights girls are really getting settled at St Mary's Park, with another great home performance - this time against Manchester Dreams.
Coach Justin said: "It was non-stop action right from kick off as both sides scored goals within the first minute. The girls were fabulous throughout, contesting every ball and playing some lovely football in between. They’re continuing their progress every week but most importantly they’re playing as a team and supporting each other throughout.
