Phantoms boys under-15s enjoyed a 6-0 win against Cheetham Hill Blues in the North Bury Junior Football League Cup.
Coach Marc said: "It was a good win for the boys, but playing against a team a division below, the result was expected. We scored three goals in the first half and three in the second. Now onto the next round."
Hurricanes under-eights girls had another tough game against an excellent Manchester Dreams side at St Mary’s Park (SMP).
Coach Justin said: "The opposition were very well organised and showed off their excellent passing and movement. But we kept going and our attitude and effort couldn’t be faulted. We’re on a steep learning curve and it is easy to forget that is our first season playing league games.
"Siana the Cat was sensational, with one of her saves a genuinely world class effort, and she was singled out for praise by the opposition coaches. Betsy was our player of the match after another tremendous display in both defence and midfield, a fitting reward for her consistency and application.
"Marnie was her usual dynamic self, never stopping battling and using her skills in midfield against a very tough opposition. Violet scored both of our goals, and never stopped running at the opposition and carrying the attacks to them.
"Lyla also never stopped running and trying her best to attack, and also played a crucial role in defence as well. Rene was everywhere in defence, midfield and attack and never let us down despite the strength of the opposition.
"Alma had a tough assignment in defence and midfield, but kept going until the end and made some good interceptions and passes. Olivia showed off her now customary determination and skill on the ball in another composed midfield display."

Panthers under-nines boys put in a "really dominate performance" in the 'panthers derby' against Rochdalian Panthers, according to coach Ste.
He said: "The first half was end to end with Rocco and Freddie excellent in our defence. Oliver opened the scoring for us, then just before the break James scored with a smart finish from the edge of the area. We were full of confidence going into the second half and started where we left off.
"Ari slotted home after a great cross by Oliver. William scored after a great driving run through the centre of their defence. At the other end Rochdalian’s continued to attack, however David pulled off an excellent one-on-one diving save. Our best performance of the season with everyone working really well as a team."
Diamonds under-11s girls put in a cracking performance against Rainford under-10s, who are playing up a year.
Coach Mark said: "If an under-10s are playing a year up in the top division it makes me very nervous, as it usually means they are very good and they were - the score line was probably a little flattering to us.
"Our finishing was exceptional and we attacked with pace and power that the younger girls simply couldn’t live with. We’re full of goals and I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say that we’ve got the best strike force in the league, and we’ve also got a midfield who are chipping in too.
"We were defensively solid again and the girls at the back are really keeping it tight and putting everything on the line so the girls in front of them can play with more freedom. There were some lovely finishes and some beautiful assists. I still think at times we switched off and ball-watched a little and could’ve passed it around more, but that’s just my usual nitpicking and it’s an impossible ask to expect kids this age to play total football for 60 minutes.
"Parents' player of the game was Eva - now bringing goals into her game and looking a real player. My player of the game was Layla. She ran herself into the ground and switched seamlessly from midfield to defence when asked. Kris’s girl of the game was Maria, with a powerhouse performance topped with goals aplenty. The players' player of the game was Erin, who can’t stop scoring but also made great runs into the channels and unselfishly lays on lots of assists."
Wolves under-10s boys had what coach Ben called their "performance of the season" against Strike to secure their place in the knockout stage of the MYSL Christmas Cup.
Ben said: "Harry scored with a fine low drive. Then a mix up from their defence from a corner was capitalised on by the quick thinking of Harrison, who lashed home from close range. It was wave after wave of attacks from the Wolves and Max W rounded off a fine team performance to make it three from range. The whole team were fantastic."
Our Titans under-15s boys progressed to the next round of the cup with a thrilling penalty shoot out win against Walshaw from the league above.
Coach Nathan said: "After another slow start saw us 3-0 down at half time, despite a few clear cut chances we couldn’t take. We turned the game around in the second half, with two great goals from Max.
"Ryley got another - putting it right in the bottom corner. And at the death, we got a free kick which Leighton stuck it top bins to take the game to penalties. Our keeper Huey came up with two saves to win us the game. All our penalties were scored on our way into the next round."
Cheetahs under-12s girls were involved in a ding-dong battle at home to Breightmet United, with the game ending 2-2 thanks to a last minute equaliser.
The girls had gone one up thanks to an own goal, before the visitors fought back to look like they were going to take all three points. After a succession of chances were squandered by Cheetahs breaking through the backline, a speculative effort from Sylvie found the net to leave the reds happy to salvage a point in a game they could have won.
Phoenix under-10s girls were not at their best against a very good Salford United side who boasted several players connected to professional clubs.
The girls never gave up, with Summer scoring a clinical goal and Isabella player of the match after once more pulling off a string of incredible saves. Orlaith and Noe also stood out for Marauders with their constant running and probing.
Coach Aidan said: "We were unlucky in parts against probably the best team we will play this season and having had two weeks without a game. But the girls ran their socks off and battled hard. Back to fortress SMP next week."
Raptors under-12s boys fought hard in a disappointing defeat against the impressive Northside.
Coach Paul said: "The game was closer than the scoreline suggests and it was a great team performance with the lads battling for everything all over the pitch. Our heads never dropped and we hit the woodwork four times and saw plenty of the ball. In the end, small margins were the difference but good showing all round against a team as yet unbeaten this season."
