Tornados under-eights were resolute in the face of Storm Darragh and played 'their best football of the season'.
After the game against Stockport coach Liam said: "The conditions weren't great, but the performance blew the opposition away. Captain for the day was Seb, who scored two goals - one on the half volley and the other a well taken 1v1 with the keeper.
"Jack played in the centre of midfield, battling from box to box and he managed to slot the ball home. As our only centre half, Ryan had a brilliant game, making it hard for Stockport to create chances.
"Charlie and Evan battled hard on the wings, providing some great chances and getting back to defend too. Cooper had a great game in and out of net, stopping shots, but also creating chances with his distribution. Mateo was on great form, setting up chances and scoring a brace.
"A big shoutout to Tilly, who came back from major surgery to play a part in the game - making an excellent save with her legs and rushing off her line to prevent another chance. Well done Tornados, it was a great game to watch."
Devils under-11s boys are through to the MYSL final after a win on penalties against Mountfield Rossi.
Coach Andy said: "The conditions were dreadful but the lads really dug in and battled through. There was a great header from centre back Mikey and fantastic finish from Luca up top.
"Mountfield equalised with seconds left, so we went to penalties. Both of our pens were perfect with Danny and Reggie scoring. Onto the final on Saturday..."
Jaguars under-nines boys survived blustery conditions in their evenly fought game against Strike FC.
Coach Tim said: "It was mercifully dry, but the very strong winds made decent football pretty much impossible. Riley scored our goal, with a smart finish, but the conditions hampered us and we weren't able to build on it.
"With the wind at their backs Strike put us under pressure in the second half. We did what we could in the circumstances - we battled, concentrated hard and helped each other in what was a fair result."
Raptors under-12s boys had an interesting encounter against Boothstown...
Coach Paul takes up the story: "We technically lost 3-2, however Boothstown had three players drop out at the last minute, so we asked for volunteers among our own ranks to play half a game for them.
"Typically the lads who played for them created and saved goals, leading to our loss... We are therefore claiming the moral victory as it was technically our players who did the damage."
