Titans boys under-15s enjoyed a 4-0 win against Radcliffe Juniors Devils, to keep their promotion hopes on track
Coach Nathan said: "It was a great win for the boys, who put in a great defensive performance with a clean sheet. There were some great goals as well - including a cracking corner assist from Ley, for Jack to head home.
"There was a lovely solo goal from Ryley and Gabe also got on the scoresheet. Another excellent corner from Ley saw the Devils unfortunately turn it into their own net to cap our win. Our back four were great and well done to Huey on his performance.
"Player of the game was Tommy who put in a superb shift at centre back. We hope to keep the wins coming and promotion is our goal."
Cheetahs girls under-12s gave unbeaten Bridge JFC a proper game and were unlucky to go down 3-5.
Coach Alex said: "The scoreline did not reflect just how good we were. Again a solid defence coping well with the long balls and closing down. AJ’s clearances were spot on, Pearl, Katy, Charlotte and Summer were brilliant and tracking those runs and trying to push the play out of the danger zones.
"Isla coming for those loose balls and pressuring the strikers at the right time forcing some errors and making some brilliant saves again this week. The difference was the opposition's follow ups and how they overwhelmed us in the box to then find the back of the net in whatever way they could.
"We had some excellent play to net our three goals and plenty more opportunities that we just couldn’t finish. Orlaith, Flora, Neyva, Sylvie and Summer in the midfield covered some serious ground. Sylvie scored a hat-trick and there were some lovely through-balls from Neyva, Flora and Aoife to create the opportunities.
"Aoife and Lola took turns up front and both were unlucky not to find the back of the net. Charlotte late into the second half joining the attack and almost netted one herself. Players of the game were Summer and Orlaith for their coverage and pressure all over the pitch. We are very proud of the girls and how far they’ve come this season."
Our Vikings under-12s boys, meanwhile, had a tough day at the office but have still qualified for a semi-final.
Coach Tom said: "It was a great game to watch. I felt some of the lads didn't have their greatest games, but I thought we started great and were on top for the opening 15 minutes.
"Player of the match Jenson had the bit between his teeth from the off, receiving the ball and running at their defence, taking them on and putting balls in the box, and he had a couple of opportunities himself, getting on the scoresheet eventually. The other goal came from Aidan.
"We should all be very proud of the boys finishing second in the group stage and qualifying for the champions league semi-final."
Panthers under-nines took on Strike Reds for the first time and did the club proud.
Coach Ste said: "We started well, taking control of the game straight away. Captain Freddie drove the team forward during the first half winning duels all over the pitch. Ethan and James showed what team work was about as they both assisted each other for two goals before half-time.
"The second half started much of the same with the Panthers on top and controlling the game. Strike couldn’t get past our defence so they reverted to longer range shots however David once again was equal to everything making some great diving saves to block every shot.
"David then changed from goal saver to goal provider as his long kick went over the top to Ethan who did great to hold off their defender and neatly finish. Panthers saw the game out well, keeping possession and pressing high.
"There were some excellent performances all round, with the players of the match going to Ethan and James, who both scored and assisted each other."
Fellow under-nines boys, Jaguars, enjoyed their game with Uppermill. Coach Tim said: "We had a lot of players missing, but played well as a team, communicating and putting together some good passing moves.
"James stole the show with a hat-trick and Flynn scored a cracking first-time, roof of the net, finish."
Phantoms boys under-15s beat Radcliffe Borough 5-2.
Coach Marc said: "It was a great performance from the team and they deserved their win. Despite playing with 10 men at times, they managed to keep control of the game.
"We were 3-1 up at half-time thanks to goals from Nathan, Riley and Isaac. We managed a couple more goals in the second period, though we suffered a bit with injuries.
"It was good to see the lads getting stuck in and battling throughout the game. They all did their jobs. Player of the game was split between Isaac and Finn - they were both brilliant and stood out all game."
