Panthers boys under-nines (pictured) enjoyed their re-match against B-Pro, which followed their narrow cup defeat against the same opponents the week before.
Coach Ste said: "Panthers dominated the first half but conceded two scrappy goals. A brace from Ari got us back on terms and we stepped up into another gear in the second half.
"Ethan converted Oliver's cross and then got one of his own, as Panthers took control. James also hit an absolute rocket into the top corner to cap off our display. It was a great game to watch with Avi getting player of the match for his two important goals."
Diamonds under-11s girls played out a cracking game against a top quality Wigan Athletic side.
Coach Mark said: "I thought it was a very good performance - we looked hungry and full of desire. Wigan are a very good team and have a physical presence, and we have a tendency to go into our shells a little against teams like that, but we played with that aggression the top teams have and fought for everything.
"In spells we played the ball about well with some lovely through balls, and we drove forward at pace. We definitely moved up the pitch as a unit better and while we did leave pockets of space at times I thought it was much better than the last few weeks.
"This was our second match in three weeks against Wigan and in the first we let the opposition cut in off the flanks far too often and they targeted us that way. We stressed after training on Wednesday not to let them dictate play and to just marshal them into the corners. I thought the girls did this to a tee and really nullified their danger players.
"It’s really important now we carry the performance into next week’s cup quarter final and hopefully carry on the cup run. Parents' player of the game was Frankie - she showed great positioning and communication at centre half with another really solid performance and looking like she’s played there all season.
"Kris’ player of the game was Erin, who turned up exuding confidence and carried it into the game. With a very well taken goal and in being a constant menace to the opposition back line - she was really on it today.
Craig's player of the game was Layla. She had been struck down with illness in the week but you’d never know the way she worked the left flank, as she was superb in defence and attack.
"While there were many excellent individual performances, I want to recognise the team as a whole and give my award to everyone, I thought it was the most solid ‘team performance’ for a few weeks where everyone contributed and really fought for each other and made this old misery very proud."
Vikings under-11s boys had a proper battle in their game against Westbury Rangers.
Coach Tom said: "We made a slow and sluggish start and probably deserved to be down. This gave the boys the wake-up call needed and soon there was a beautiful finish from Aidan with his not-weak-but-weaker left foot after rounding the goalkeeper.
"The second half was a different story. We asked the boys to keep the ball on the ground and play through the space the opposition were leaving in the middle of the park.
We got our reward with a long-range strike from Rocco.
"It was a battle, and we suffered some injuries, but we carried on and got our rewards, with goals scored by Aidan, Rocco, Harry, Seb and Oliver. We were really happy for Harry getting his first goal, which he totally deserves after recent defensive displays.
"After being handed the captain's armband for his player of the match performance last week, Harry was absolutely outstanding yet again. He won all of his duels, plenty of interceptions. He protected our goal brilliantly and topped it off with a goal."
Titans under-15 boys beat Whitworth 4-1, to make it seven wins on the bounce in the league.
Coach Nathan said: "It was a great win for the boys. They had a great attitude and focus and did well to bring home the three points on a slanted pitch.
"The back four and Huey were solid once again, with our goals coming from Zach, Leo and two quality finishes from Gabe. Zach was player of the match as he was absolutely everywhere and worked his socks off."
Phoenix under-10s girls played out a tight encounter against an evenly matched Westbury Foxes.
Coach Brendan said: "The teams lined up in 9v9 in preparation for the move to under-11s next season. Phoenix started the stronger of the teams, with our midfield getting a grip of the game early on, pinning Westbury in their half.
"We displayed our passing range in the early stages of the game and created some good chances but were unable to make their possession count. Westbury gradually grew into the game.
"The second half was an even game. We played some superb football, progressing the ball from back to front, playing through the lines. And it was great to see the work we are doing in training transferring to the match.
"The defensive unit were solid, getting stuck into challenges and playing out nicely. The midfielders were full of running and energy, spreading play from side to side. The attackers fought hard against a tough, well-drilled defence. All the girls really put in a shift and never stopped trying to play good football, which is what we are all about.
"Our player of the game went to new recruit, Miya, who was making her debut. She put in a fantastic all action display in midfield, almost capping her performance with a goal after a superb multi-player passing move."
It was cup weekend for Hurricanes under-eights girls, as they played in the first round of the Festival Cup against Manchester North End and earned a place in the quarter finals.
Coach Justin said: "It was another highly competitive game on St Mary’s Park, with the opposition taking an early lead in the first half before Lyla brought it level with another terrific finish. It was nip and tuck for the rest of the game and we missed several chances before a couple of last gasp goals from Marnie sent us through.
"Alma has become our regular first half keeper and was once again a reassuring presence in goal before playing in defence in the second half. Siana once again went in goal in the second half and made some fine saves, after playing well in midfield in the first.
"Violet put in her usual relentless attacking display, setting up the first goal and coming desperately close to scoring herself. Betsy was an assured presence in defence and made some critical interceptions to keep us in the game.
"Olivia showed some great touches under pressure and came very close to scoring in the second half. Emily constantly tried to get on the ball and always made herself available for the pass.
"Matilda ran herself into the ground, pressuring the opposition defence constantly and playing some good passes. Lyla scored another great finish and set up the winner with a great cross as part of typically all action performance.
"Player of the match was Marnie, not only for her two goals but for consistently chasing back and defending, and also showing off her technical skills.
"It was great to get through to the next round of the cup, and we play in the quarter finals this coming Sunday - once again on St Mary’s Park. A lot of these games are physical battles and the girls always prove themselves to be up for this challenge."
