Diamonds under-12s girls braved tough conditions to post a landmark 5-0 victory over AFC Bolton.

Coach Mark said: "While not our best performance of the season, which is totally understandable considering we were playing in freezing driving rain, this was a standout result.

"I doubt any other team has gone up to their place before and won like that, or will again for a long while. We had a wind chill of -5 at training on Wednesday, and freezing driving rain for the match.

"These Diamonds are made of tougher stuff than most though and battled the conditions on both days without complaints or any dip in standards. The way these girls are giving everything for us really is something to behold and it’s an honour to be able to watch it from the sidelines.

"Like last week we were at it from the off with our forward players pressing aggressively and showing a real determination to win the ball, which resulted in another early goal and that set the tone for the first half which I thought we dominated and took us into the break with a comfortable four-goal cushion.

"The second half was as much a battle against the conditions as the opposition. AFC came out with a steely determination and the wind behind their backs and were encouraged to shoot at every opportunity but our defensive unit and keeper are fully paid up members of the clean sheet union and defended stoically and were determined to keep up their fine record.

"While we were a lot busier defensively with the wind in our faces, I thought we had some really good passages of play offensively and played with the ball on the ground more to beat the wind, and it resulted in us getting the only goal of the second half.

"It was another performance that sent me home proud and excited for the future in equal measure. It was another match when everyone really deserved the player of the game gong, so honorable mentions all round. Elsa was really pushing for one of the individual awards and unlucky not to get one as as solid as ever.

"Frankie was a rock at the back and played the full 60 like a warrior. Jeanette showed real determination and wasn’t getting beaten in 1v1s. Captain Violette left everything on the pitch and worked the flank tireless and is leading by example on a weekly basis.

"Maria came off her sickbed and topped another powerful performance with a brace. Eva put in a box-to-box performance complete with a now customary goal.

"Craig's player of the game was keeper Darci, who commanded her box excellently, coming off her line with intention and showed great distribution and communication with those in front of her.

"Parents' player of the game was Mia, with an exceptional second half goal line clearance and she really deserved a goal at the other end and was unlucky not to get one the way she attacked AFC in the closing stages.

"Kris’ player of the game was Erin. She pressed aggressively from the first second to the last, and was absolutely up for it despite the conditions. She played half the match out wide and worked like a seasoned wingback.

"My player of the game was Essi. Velvet, Galaxy chocolate or anything else smooth you can name aren’t as smooth as Essi on the ball. She did everything I asked of her to perfection and as always showed great decision making."

Jaguars under-10s boys (pictured above) put in a 'superb performance' against LTFC.

Coach Tim said: "The boys showed their quality throughout. From the start, Marauders put their opponents under pressure and it wasn't long before Riley scored with a long range strike. The Jaguars' number five was brilliant all game and turned provider when he got to the byline and delivered a great cross, which Ned turned in at the back post.

"LTFC's attacks were blunted by Stanley and Oscar's organisation and well-timed tackles. On the rare occasions that they made it past, Casper was equal to any attempts. Ned broke up play and produced a great through ball for Riley to dink past the keeper.

"Riley completed his hat-trick by smashing the ball into the roof of the net. Ned then went on a mazy run through the middle of the pitch and finished expertly. The Jaguars had played brilliantly, however LTFC never gave up.

The second half began with Riley really in the mood, scoring his fourth of the match. Stanley was excellent in goal in the second half, showing amazing concentration and communicating really well.

"Flynn was dangerous throughout the match and had been denied by the goalkeeper, post, and just too much on through balls on occasion but he scored an excellent goal to finish off a superb counter attack, assisted by Adam.

"Phaedon had a great match, dominating his wing and breaking up play superbly. He turned provider, laying the ball off to Adam who took a touch, looked, and then bent a beautiful shot that the keeper could only palm into the roof of the net.

"Casper wanted more goals and he nearly broke through with some excellent attempts. During one attack he controlled the ball superbly and provided an excellent cross that Riley turned into the goal with a brilliant first time finish. A great performance all round."

It was the cliched game of two halves for Panthers under-10s boys against Longford.

Coach Ste said: "In the first half we played our best football all season. Everything was working, we won every ball and dominated throughout. James scored two and Ollie got another but it could have been even more. Hudson hit the post and their keeper made some good saves.

"The second half started the same with James getting his hat-trick early on then the game went crazy. Longford came back into it. Player of the match James scored his fourth of the day but Panthers got a bit complacent.

"Then they picked up the page and created chances. Freddie hit the post. The team put their all into it and played some great football."
