Phoenix was set up in summer 2023, with an ethos to give as many local girls as possible the chance to play football, while helping them develop in a fun and fair environment.
Nine of the initial 13-strong development squad had never played competitive football before, but the team equipped themselves well in their debut season in the Bury and Bolton District Football League Mead Division and topped the campaign by winning the Horwich St Mary’s Football Festival Plate.
